The Odeon Cinema opened in July 1937. The panels on the walls of the auditorium to either side of the screen were designed by Mollo & Egan, interior designers. The cinema was taken over by Brent Walker in 1975 and was renamed the Focus Cinema. It closed in May 1983, and was demolished in September 1983.
