Description

The Danilo Cinema opened in 1939, designed by A. Glyndon Sherwin. The cinema was taken over by Essoldo Cinemas in 1954 and was renamed. In 1966 it became a bingo hall, being occupied by Essoldo Big Bingo, Ladbrokes, Top Rank, and finally Mecca Bingo until 1998. The building was used as a live music venue, The Lomax, until the early 2000s. It was demolished in 2008.
