Description

The Kingsway Cinema, or simply The Kingsway, opened in 1925. Initial planning had begun in 1913 and when it opened it was described as being a 'state of the art' 'Super-Cinema'. The cinema closed in 1980 and in 1982 it became a bingo hall, which closed in 2007. The building was damaged by fire in 2011 and the main body of the building was subsequently demolished.
