Description

The Oak Cinema opened in 1923. It was taken over by Associated British Cinemas in 1935, when it was briefly closed for alterations including an enlarged stage and an extension to the balcony seating. In 1965 it was renamed ABC Cinema; the cinema reverted to its original name in 1978 after being taken over, but closed in 1979. The building was later demolished.
