The Capitol Cinema opened in 1925. The auditorium was enlarged in 1929, to over 1,000 seats. In 1964 the cinema was refurbished and in 1979 it was converted into three screens. The date of this photograph is not known, but it was probably taken between 1970 and 1990. The cinema closed in 1996.
