Description

The Gaumont Palace opened in 1934. It was designed by father and son W. Edward Trent and W. Sydney Trent, and the stone panels at the top of the facade were carved by Newbury A. Trent. The cinema closed as the Cannon Cinema in 1988 and the building later became a bingo hall, nightclub and restaurant. This photograph is a copy; the original photographer is not known.
