Description

The Capitol Cinema opened in 1931. It was partially rebuilt following a fire in 1932 and reopened in 1933. After the final film was shown in 1956 the building became a television studio, and was extended. From the 1970s it was used by Manchester Polytechnic for theatre studies and television production. The building was demolished between 1998 and 2000.
