Description

The Kingsway Cinema or Kingsway Super Cinema opened in 1929. It was designed by John Knight, whose early commissions were cinemas and who subsequently developed a speciality in their design. It was damaged by fire in 1957 and was subsequently used as a storage facility for ABC Cinemas, which had operated the cinema. In the early 1970s the building was demolished. This photograph is a copy; the original photographer and date is not known.
