Description

The building was opened in 1935 and was designed by the noted cinema architect, George E. Tonge. The cinema underwent a number of name changes throughout its existence; The Savoy Cinema (1936); ABC Savoy (1961); ABC (1978). It finally became the Cannon Cinema at some point in the 1980s. The cinema closed in 1993 and was subsequently demolished.
