Description

Opened in 1921-22 as the Art Picture House. The building was designed by Albert Winstanley and despite ceasing to be used as a cinema since the 1960s, it remains largely intact. As such, it has been Grade II listed, as an example of 1920s cinema design. The building has been used subsequently as a bingo hall, snooker rooms and a bar. In 2009 it became part of the Wetherspoon pub chain.
