Description

The Majestic Cinema opened in 1922 and by the time it closed in 1998, had outlasted all other cinemas in the town of Macclesfield. Alongside its use as a movie theatre, the building also occasionally hosted amateur theatrical productions. The majority of the cinema building was demolished in 2000 and a bar was built in its place. The only remaining aspect of the cinema was the building’s distinctive white tiled exterior tower.
