Opened in 1932, the Glenroyal Cinema was designed by Manchester based architects Ernst H. Dawson in the Art Deco style. The building had five large windows with shutters which could be opened to give the auditorium with natural light. The cinema closed in 1962, upon which it was turned into a bingo hall. In 1990 the building was rebranded as a Walkers Bingo Hall, at a later point it became the King’s Bingo and Social Club, when this picture was taken. Businesses closed on this site in 2008. After lying derelict ever since it was destroyed by fire in 2013.
