Description

The Majestic Cinema was built for the Leeds Picture Playhouse Ltd and was designed by architects Pascal J Steinlet and J C Maxwell. It opened in 1922 under the name of the Majestic Picture Theatre and operated as a cinema until July 1969. It then operated as a Top Rank bingo club until 1996, and then the Majestyk nightclub between the years 1997-2008. In 2014, the building was badly damaged in a fire with most of the interior destroyed. In 2018 it was converted into an office building.
