Description

This cinema building was designed by the architect William R Glen. It opened in 1936 under the name of the Savoy Cinema and was operated by Associated British Cinemas (ABC). In 1986, it was taken over by the Cannon Cinema Group and was known as the Cannon Cinema until it's closure in 1995. It lay empty for a few years until it was purchased by the Jesus Army and turned into a church called the Jesus Centre. In 2004 it was designated a grade II listed building and in recent years has re-opened as a theatre known as The Deco.
