This cinema building was constructed just before the Second World War but was not opened until 1950. In 1974 it was converted into a triple screen cinema and had additional screens added in 1990 and 1997. It was refurbished in 1999 and in 2008. This photograph may have been taken prior to additional screens being added in the former balcony.
