Description

The Savoy Cinema was built for Associated British Cinemas (ABC), opening in 1937. It was later taken over by the Cannon Group in 1986 but closed in 1991. The building was purchased by J D Wetherspoon and was converted into a pub named The Savoy which opened in 1996. This photograph appears to have been taken shortly before the cinema was taken over by the Cannon Group in 1986.
