Description

This cinema building opened in 1936 under the name of the Gaumont Palace. After being renamed Gaumont in 1937 and Odeon in 1962, it was renamed Classic Cinema in 1967. The cinema closed in 1974 and in 1981 became the nightclub Goldiggers. The nightclub has since closed and the auditorium of the cinema has been demolished with the front of the building redeveloped into flats with shops and offices on the ground floor.
