Description

The Leicester Square Odeon Cinema opened in November 1937, with a Compton organ installed. The cinema was the flagship cinema in the Odeon chain and was designed by Harry Weedon and Andrew Mather. Both the building and the organ have been restored several times. In 2020, it was one of three Compton organs remaining in operating cinemas, the others being in the Plaza Cinema, Stockport, and the Odeon Cinema, Weston-super-Mare.
