Description

The Trocadero Building opened in 1882 as the Trocadero Palace of Varieties. It was closed in 1894. In the 20th century the building was altered, partially rebuilt, and expanded to include a Lyons Corner House restaurant. The MGM Trocadero Cinemas, or Trocadero Cinema, opened in 1991 with 7 screens. It was later taken over the Virgin, UGC, and finally Cineworld. The cinema closed in 2014 and was converted into an art house cinema operated by Picturehouse Cinemas, which opened in 2015.
