Description

The Odeon West End Cinema, or Odeon Cinema, opened as the Leicester Square Theatre in 1930. The building was designed by Andrew Mather. It was briefly named the Olympic Theatre between 1932 and 1933. The interior was reconstructed in the late 1960s for the creation of a new auditorium, designed by Arnold Dick Associates and Cassidy, Farrington & Dennys. The cinema was renamed the Odeon West End in 1988 and the auditorium was divided into two screens in 1991. The cinema closed on 1st January 2015, and the building was demolished.
