Description

The cinema opened in 1932. It was previously known as the Avenue Theatre and the Spanish City Cinema, and became the Odeon Cinema in 1936. It was designed by Cecil Aubrey Masey, with the Spanish-style Atmospheric interior by Theodore Komisarjevsky. The cinema was renamed the Coronet Cinema in 1981, and closed in in 1985. The building was converted into a nightclub known as the Top Hat Club and reopened in 1988. After the club's closure in 1994, the building was taken over by a church and the building has been renovated.
