Description

The Granada Theatre opened in 1931. The cinema closed in 1973 and reopened in 1976 as the Granada Bingo Club, later the Gala Bingo Club. The organ chambers of the Wurlitzer organ were located beneath the stage. They were damaged by flooding in 1973, and again in 2007 soon after completion of restoration work. The Granada Theatre is considered to be the most lavishly decorated cinema interior in Britain.
