The Astoria Cinema opened in 1930. It was taken over by Associated British Cinemas Ltd in 1935 but was not renamed ABC Cinema until 1963. The cinema closed in 1974 and later became a social club (1984-1990) and then a bingo club (1990-2001). The build was demolished in the mid-2000s.
