Description

The Forum Cinema opened in 1934 and was renamed The ABC Cinema in 1964. The building was closed as a cinema in 1974 and became a theatre known as the Forum Theatre. It later became an Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. The auditorium remains largely unaltered. The plaster decorations on the ante-proscenium conceal the organ chambers on one side, and were designed to resemble a traditional church organ. The date of this photograph is not known, and nor is the date when the building began to be used as an Assembly Hall; a date range of 1990-2015 has been given but it may have been photographed earlier than this.
