Description

The Gaumont Palace, later Gaumont Theatre, was opened in 1932 and was renamed the Odeon Cinema in 1969. The cinema closed in 1981 and was converted into a Top Rank Bingo Club, later Mecca Bingo. Many of the internal and external features were retained during the conversion; the sculpted panel on the front elevation is by Newbury A Trent and depicts 'Love and Life entangled in Film'.
