The narrow edge of part of a carved Anglo Saxon cross-head

The cross-head was discovered in 1891 when the foundations of the Norman chapter house were dug up. It is now housed in the Monks' Dormitory, Durham cathedral. On the upper arm is a register of closed circuit pattern D with bar terminals and on the lower, two registers of closed circuit pattern D with bar terminals.
