Longleat House is a country house built on the site of an Augustinian Priory, which was founded in 1210, and dissolved in 1529. It became a private residence in 1546, but was rebuilt in 1568 after a fire. The house was subsequently refronted in 1572, 1801 and 1811.
Transferred from RIBA Library in 1936.
