Description

7 and 8 High Street were previously known as 1 to 4 Porch House Cottages, and are an unusual example of concave-sided lozenge decorative framing in Wiltshire. Porch House, here pictured to the left of numbers 7 and 8, was restored to use as a dwelling by E Christian in 1872-6, after being used successively as a house, a brewery, a bakehouse, barracks, a public house and tenements.
