The tithe barn was built as part of the monastic grange laid out by the Abbess of Shaftesbury, and is a great example of a medieval cruck-built timber roofed barn. This photograph is noted on the reverse of the print as being one of 'Dortesio and Todd's Noted Series of Wiltshire Views'.
