Description

Lacock Abbey was an Augustinian Nunnery founded in 1229 and dissolved in 1539. The claustral ranges of the abbey were converted into a dwelling after the Dissolution. During the 18th century, the Cloisters were altered to reflect fashionable Romantic and Gothic styles of architecture.
