Description

The old chapel at Marlborough College was completed in 1848 to the designs of Edward Blore, but by 1880 had become too small to house the college's community of 600 boys. As many of the chapel's fittings were salvaged as was possible, and the chapel was demolished in 1884, to be replaced on the same site by a new chapel designed by Bodley and Garner, completed in 1886.
