Description

Longford Castle was built in 1591 by Thomas Gorges, on a triangular plan with round corner towers. It was remodelled by James Wyatt in the late eighteenth century, with later work to Wyatt's hexagonal plan carried out between 1802 and 1817 by D A Alexander. The castle was restored during the 1870s by A Salvin for the 4th Earl of Radnor.
