Description

This view shows the 'new' Lea Bridge, constructed in circa 1820 and replaced in 1896-97. The photograph, a print from a paper negative, has been attributed to Robert Howlett, one of the early pioneers of British photography. It is thought to be the only original print attributed to this photographer in the Historic England Archive.
