Description

The building dates from the 16th century. By 1870 the building had fallen into ruin, and the photograph shows many of the window panes were damaged or missing. In 1896 the building was restored by William Sturdy.

A note on the back of the card reads: 'East Mascalls, near Lindfield Sussex, Wednesday 2nd July 1873, from my kind friend Miss Ellen Turner of Newland...'
