Description

The Guild Chapel was founded in 1269 by the Guild of the Holy Cross, with the earliest remaining part of the building being the chancel, dating to the thirteenth century. The garden from which this photograph was taken occupies the site of New Place, the house William Shakespeare lived in from 1610 until his death in 1616.
