Description

This late fifteenth century timber framed house was the childhood home of the poet and playwright, William Shakespeare. The house was acquired by the now Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in the mid-nineteenth century and was restored in 1858. It is now a museum.

Accessioned into the collection of the National Buildings Record on the 19th of October 1951.
