Description

The house was acquired by the now-Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in the mid-nineteenth century and was restored in 1858. It is now a museum. The late fifteenth century timber framed house was the childhood home of the poet and playwright, William Shakespeare.

Archival History

Accessioned into the collection of the National Buildings Record on the 4th of September 1953, donated by a 'Mrs Davies'.
