Description

Mortimer's Tower is so called after antiquarian William Dugdale's account of Roger Mortimer, who organised a tournament at the castle in 1279. The gatehouse was constructed during the reign of King John, was at least two storeys high and comprised two D-shaped towers. This is a collotype print.
