Description

This collotype print was created by James Valentine and Sons Limited and is likely to have been a copy made from an original photograph by the company. The creation date range of this print has been estimated based on other surviving reproductions of Kenilworth Castle by the company. Kenilworth Castle dates from the early twelfth century, but this structure, formerly known as the Banqueting Hall, now known as John of Gaunt's Great Hall, was begun in the mid-fourteenth century after the castle passed into the ownership of John of Gaunt, son of Edward III.
