The mount to which this photograph is attached has 'Compton Wynyates, Warwickshire - Marquess of Northampton' written on it. Compton Wynyates has been a home of the Compton family since its construction. Lord Compton was created Earl of Northampton in 1629, the hereditary title later elevated to Marquess in 1812.
