Description

The spire is shown after restorations which took place in the 1880s. The Cathedral was previously known as the Parish Church of St Michael, and was the largest parish church in England. In 1918 the diocese was revised and the church was given cathedral status. The cathedral was largely destroyed during the Coventry blitz of 1940. This photograph can be attributed to the photographer Francis Bedford.
