Description

This photograph was taken by the prolific Birmingham amateur photographer Sir J. Benjamin Stone, MP, who created a body of work numbering in the tens of thousands of photographs documenting rural life and historic sites during the late nineteenth century. The reverse of the mount is marked with 'Warwickshire Photographic Survey' and Stone's details. Stone helped to establish the Survey in the early 1890s, later going on to set up the National Photographic Record Association.
