Description

A typed note on the back of the photograph records that this pair of old houses are said to have been built by Inigo Jones. Richard Brinsley Sheridan lived there and also Thomas Hudson and James Hoole. The Freemasons' Hall was subsequently built on the site.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
