A row of shops at 36-44 Greenwich Church Street, including three that are weatherboarded. The shops include a boot maker at no. 36, a Royal Naval Shaving Saloon at no. 38, a butcher at no. 42 and a harness maker at no. 44.

Description

A listed building designed in 1829 now occupies the site (nos. 34-42). At some point after this photograph was taken the shops were demolished to make way for all or part of the construction of this listed building. The shop on the far left, number 44, was still standing when this photograph was catalogued.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project. A copy neg number is written on the back of this print - BB029363, however this does not exist in the archive 19/11/2012.
