The photograph is believed to have been taken with a pantoscopic camera first invented in 1862 by Johnson and Harrison. It was published by the Pantascopic Company who operated between 1864-1868. The photograph shows a few people walking in the park and the mast of an exercising ship is just visible in the grounds of Greenwich Hospital School.
