It seems likely that these almshouses were the row to the south of Page's Lane, known as Uzielli Cottages, which were demolished and replaced by Whitehall Lodge in 1937. The handwritten caption is unclear, but may indicate the architect to be James Edmeston (1791-1867). This print was transferred from the library of the R.I.B.A. (Royal Institute of British Architects) in 1936.
This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
