Description

Date accessioned: 27th September 1945. Note on reverse of this print: 'HS Goodhart Rendel Esq Architect London'. Rendel's grandfather lived in this house from when it was built in 1905 until his death in 1913. After this it was donated by his executors for use as a hospital for shell-shocked army officers. It continued in this role until 1923. From 1936 it became the official residence of the Norwegian ambassador.

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
