Description

The reverse of the print has a handwritten title reading 'The Grey Mantle of Father Thames' and also shows the photographer's stamp reading 'Arthur H Page, 33 Priory Avenue, Bedford Park, London, W4.' The steam cargo ship 'Ugo Bassi' was constructed in 1902 and wrecked in 1940, so we know the print originates from between these dates, and most likely between 1902 and the beginning of the First World War in 1914.
