Description

This photograph is one of a pair showing details of the carved panels. A letter from Arthur Smith, the museum curator, is pasted to the reverse of the card mount (XA00167). It states that the chest was 'used at Great Willingham' and is believed to be of 14th century date.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
