Description

Wilton House was rebuilt by the first Earl of Pembroke after 1544 and the east facade dates largely to that period of construction. The photograph was taken by the garden historian W J Day.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project. The print was accessioned into the collection of the National Buildings Record on the 20th of October 1952.
